Ventilation of a private house - how to do profitably and qualitatively

A country house, cottage, dacha - wonderful words that epitomize the dream of many city dwellers. When this dream comes true - an interesting time begins: the choice of project, construction material, finishing style and, of course, the planning of engineering systems. Our material will tell you about how important ventilation in a private house and how to get rid of mold and condensation on the windows, if there was a mistake in the design.

In many cases, future homeowners carefully and responsibly approach this process and provide all the necessary systems: heating, water supply, sewerage, air conditioning and ventilation. As a rule, a specialized company is hired for design and installation, in some cases these works are undertaken by the developer.
The main ways of organizing ventilation of a private house
Depend on its area, storey, number of residents and their requirements versus financial capabilities. Here are the most common options:
  • mechanical supply and exhaust ventilation
with recuperation, deep filtration, heating. Its main advantages: provides the necessary air exchange ratio in winter and summer, perfectly cleans the air, eliminates discomfort from cold. Minuses: price, expensive maintenance and operation, possible noise.
  • combination of natural exhaust ventilation and mechanical supply ventilation
Pros of such a system: much cheaper than the first option, there is filtration and heating of air, solves the problem of pressure drop on the upper floors. Minuses: such air inlets remain expensive and require constant costs in operation. In addition, any mechanics is a source of noise.
  • natural exhaust ventilation in the absence of supply ventilation
There is only one plus, it is the cheapest option, all the rest are minuses. The main thing is that such ventilation does not work when the windows are closed. You have to put them in the micro-ventilation position, which cannot be done all the time - it is cold, noisy, dusty and unsafe.
It is clear that often the customer, trying to fit into the budget, is looking for opportunities to save money: on materials, on works, on everything that can be painlessly, in his opinion, removed from the project. Very often the victim of savings is ventilation. It is considered that you cannot live without water and heat, without coolness in hot summer, but you can ventilate by opening windows... Especially when the bill for ventilation is a considerable sum....

It also happens that the customer simply did not think about ventilation. Most builders of private houses do not perform work on ventilation and do not want to "get involved" in this specific topic.

As a result, from 10 to 20% of new homeowners receive houses-thermos, in which it is extremely uncomfortable to live. The walls and windows are airtight, there is no air supply or exhaust ventilation. In such houses there is nothing to breathe and have to put up with high humidity in the house, as well as its consequences condensation on the windows or even mold on the walls. What to do?

- We offer the use of natural ventilation inlets Norvind. This completely solves the problem of removing excessive humidity and CO2 from the room and creates the necessary rarefaction for a constant supply of fresh air through passive air inlets. The system works perfectly in summer and winter and has excellent performance.

There are two limitations - the area of the house up to 200m2 and the possibility of operation only in those houses where there is no stove heating and fireplaces.

Proper supply and exhaust ventilation in the house is the key to a comfortable life!
